Coriolis Flow Meters for Batching and Dosing
Batching systems need repeatable mass measurement, predictable valve timing, and a signal that the control system can trust. A Coriolis meter measures mass directly, making it a strong fit for liquid ingredients, chemicals, fuels, and other metered transfers.
What to specify first
Start with the target batch size, normal and maximum flow, fluid density, viscosity, temperature, and pressure. The meter should operate in a stable range during both the fast-fill and trim phases. Oversizing can reduce low-flow resolution, while undersizing can create excessive pressure loss.
Accuracy is only part of batch performance
Repeatability, zero stability, valve shut-off delay, and the controller's cut-off compensation all affect the final batch. Use the meter's pulse or digital output with a control sequence that accounts for the amount still in the line after the valve closes. For high-value products, validate the complete skid rather than relying on the meter data sheet alone.
Materials and installation
Select wetted materials and seals for chemical compatibility. Keep the tubes full, avoid gas entrainment, and provide adequate straight, supported pipework. For sanitary batches, specify hygienic connections and a cleanable design; for hazardous areas, match the complete installation to the required certification.
Integration checklist
- Mass-flow range and batch quantity
- Fluid properties and operating conditions
- Required accuracy and repeatability
- Valve, pump, and PLC communication protocol
- Process connection, materials, and certifications
For application sizing, share your fluid, flow range, line size, pressure, temperature, and target batch accuracy. Seed Energy can help match the meter and provide export documentation for the complete order.
