Flow Meter Export Documentation and Sourcing from China

A clear technical specification and document checklist reduces delays when buying industrial flow meters for an overseas project. The goal is to make the meter, certificates, packing, and shipping records match the equipment that arrives on site.

Define the technical scope

Include fluid, density, viscosity, flow range, pressure, temperature, line size, process connection, power supply, outputs, enclosure rating, and the required accuracy. State whether the service is sanitary, hygienic, hazardous, custody-related, or exposed to washdown.

Documents commonly requested

• Commercial invoice and packing list
• Product data sheet and instruction manual
• Calibration or verification record
• Material, pressure, and conformity certificates where applicable
• Serial-number list and nameplate photographs
• Country-of-origin and shipping documents requested by the importer

Inspection before shipment

Confirm the model, meter size, connection, display and output configuration, cable entries, and nameplate data against the approved order. For a project order, request photographs of each serial number and a functional or calibration record before packing.

Pack for the destination

Protect the sensor tubes and flange faces, keep accessories with the correct instrument, and label each crate with the purchase order and serial numbers. Agree on Incoterms, delivery address, customs information, and any wooden-packaging requirements before dispatch.
