Hazardous-area flow measurement requires the meter, transmitter, wiring and installation method to be specified as one system. Use this checklist before requesting quotations.
Identify the area classification
Confirm Zone 1 or Zone 2, gas or dust environment, equipment protection level, gas group and temperature class. The certificate must match the actual site classification.
Review the protection concept
Ask for the complete Ex marking, certificate number, permitted ambient range and installation conditions. Seed Energy configurations can support Ex db ib IIC and Ex ib tb IIIC requirements, subject to the selected model and market.
Match process and wetted materials
Choose 316L stainless steel for many general duties, or consider Hastelloy and titanium for corrosive media. Confirm pressure, temperature, density, viscosity and any solids or gas entrainment.
Plan signal integration
Specify HART, RS485 Modbus, pulse or frequency outputs and verify galvanic isolation, cable glands and the receiving DCS, PLC or SCADA interface.
Request the right documents
A complete supply package should include the datasheet, dimensional drawing, Ex certificate, calibration report, wiring diagram, material certificates, warranty and export packing details.
Send the zone, fluid, line size, pressure, temperature and required output. We will help match a practical configuration.
